2013 Jade Moon ‘Odyssey’ , Paso Robles
Rich, ruby color. Outstanding nose of ripe plum and earthy minerality. Full bodies and richly flavored but light on the palate with a bright and refreshing long finish. A very unusual and successful marriage of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. Moderately soft tannins and excellent balance suggest that this wine will continue to develop over the next decade. Mouth-filling and assertive, it drinks very well now and would make a fine accompaniment to grilled meats and hearty stews. Or a stand-alone treat.
